It is a gated golf course community, 4 ½ star rated 18 hole course by Golf Digest, has a clubhouse, golf learning center, 3 bocci courts a croquet court, and an activity center. They also boast a state of the art fitness center, library, meeting room, sparkling pool & spa with built in bar. They have six tennis courts that have har-tru surface. Riverwood has a private beach club with a pavilion out on Manasota Key which is about 10 minutes from Riverwood. They run a shuttle several times a day from the community.
